A Review on Papillomavirus and Related Clinical Manifestation

Abstract
It has long been recognized that the pathogenesis of cervical carcinoma and its precursors are closely related to sexual activity such as young age at sexual debut, multiple sexual partners, and not-circumcised male partner. However, recently, researchers who have focused on causative role of venerelly transmissible agents in cervical cancer including syphilis, trichomonas, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and herpes simplex started to recognize the Human Papillomavirus(HPV) as oncogenic virus of cervical cancer as well as lower genital tract neoplasm. Thereby, the approaches to the lower genital tract neoplasm including cervical cancer have been changed since then academically and even clinically. However, in the field of nursing, HPV and related diseases has not been introduced much, though nursing and medicine work along in the same setting with same clients. Therefore, people in nursing also need to modify long standing concept toward lower genital tract lesions with this brand new trends. Thereby, in this paper, papilloma virus, related clinical manifestation, and management were reviewed and introduced.
